The Bricks

Wake is full of douchebags and pussies. The douchebag is usually found crushing something behind the boat or dominating 5 cans of energydrink and sticking the shit out of a 1660 spin after obliterating his bromies. Pussies, well, that’s all of us. We bail on a rail, its plastic and then we land on water. Nice and inconsequential. Ze Germanz are not ones to tolerate poor engineering or softness. With this in mind, Lukas Seuss and his band of skatelords are rebuilding Wedau Cablepark into something we here at tBC think shuts the gate entirely on modern wakeshred. And it’s called the Bricks. We’re calling it finally.

What sets this place apart from anything else is the permanent features are concrete. Precast forms of urban decay shoved into the sandy lake bed they built after pumping all the water out. So it’s much shallower than it was meaning less choppyness.

Concrete Goodness

Don’t be expecting all these rollercoaster rails either. According to these guys, “that belongs to the 90′s. We want to see the roots of skateboarding.” We couldn’t agree more.

Clean and Straight Lines

Recent study’s have shown that a photo like this one of someone holding a laptop looking at a theodolite increase the “make it look like we know what we’re doing” factor at least tenfold. Sebi making sure this illusion is well represented, while also impressing the daylights out of the ladies.

Do I look like an Engineer yet?

Lukas and Sebi are claiming to be opening at the end of March 2012. We’re going to put it out there that the opening weekend should (and in all likeliness will) be an absolute bender. With concrete rails and a bunch of new floating Unit features too, it can’t be anything else really. Oh, did we mention its going to be a dual cable setup as well? Ok, now we did. Double the gnar. We’re already there.
